On May 22, 2012 the Ambassador and Mrs. Beyer, accompanied by Agriculture Attaché Dan Martinez and Economic/Commercial Officer Scott Woodard, visited the Vitafoods Europe Trade show at Palexpo in Geneva. Vitafoods Europe is the leading trade exhibition and conference for the nutraceutical, cosmoceutical and food ingredient industries in Europe. This year’s event attracted some 600 international exhibitors, some 40 of which are from the United States.
The Ambassador met with all the 20 exhibitors within the USA Pavilion, which was endorsed by USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service (USDA/FAS), and several U.S. companies which exhibited outside the Pavilion. Commercial Service Switzerland launched the Industry Focused Promotion program, in which 23 exhibitors participated, and was also present alongside USDA/FAS with a business information booth at the USA Pavilion to provide counseling and matchmaking services to the U.S. companies and international visitors.
