Ambassador Beyer visits Johnson & Johnson in honor of the company's 125th anniversary (Oct 4, 2011)
Ambassador Donald S. Beyer accepted the invitation of Johnson & Johnson to visit on October 4, 2011 its facilities in Schaffhausen in honor of the company's 125th anniversary and its 75th year of operations in Switzerland.
Johnson & Johnson has several subsidiaries in Switzerland, and is engaged in top-level pharmaceutical research and production, making a significant contribution to healthcare throughout the world. J&J claims to employ more people in Switzerland than any other U.S. company, making it a vital part of Switzerland's economy, and the company places a strong emphasis on being a responsible corporate citizen.
CS Mbitha-Schmid set up the visit and worked out the agenda in close cooperation with Johnson & Johnson's Manager Stakeholder Relations, Athos Del Ponte. The visit included an introduction of Johnson & Johnson's History and Mission and plant tour of Cilag AG Schaffhausen followed by a working luncheon with general discussions. The management of J&J Campus Switzerland, Cilag GmbH International, Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Cilag AG Schaffhausen as well as CEO Martin Naville of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce participated in the visit.
