Ambassador Beyer travels to Lugano on his first official trip to the Canton of Ticino

Ambassador Beyer speaks at the University of Lugano

Lugano, November 17, 2009: On one of the dolci days Ticino is famous for, the Ambassador was welcomed by University of Lugano President Mauro Baranzini to speak with 85 students and faculty on “What You Study and the Unexpected Places Where You May Go.” 

The Ambassador also enjoyed a wide-ranging discussion with Corriere del Ticino's Director Giancarlo Dillena, Foreign Affairs Editor Gerardo Morena and Editor-in-Chief Moreno Bernasconi. Ambassador Beyer also visited TASIS, where he met with the children of U.S. diplomats and military families. The day ended with an informal meet and greet with some members of the Ticino chapter of the Swiss American Chamber of Commerce.
