Medical Instructions for Visa ApplicantsImmigrants: Every applicant for an immigrant visa, regardless of age, must be medically examined. The immigration law permits no exceptions. It is the responsibility of the applicant to make the arrangements for the medical examination. It should take place about two weeks prior to the appointment date for the interview at the American Embassy in Bern to allow time for the medical report to be received before the appointment date.
The physicians listed below are authorized to perform medical examinations for visa applicants. Examinations by unauthorized physicians cannot be recognized.
The fees for the medical examination must be paid by the applicant to the doctor at the time of examination. Applicants are required to identify themselves to the examining physician by presentation of a valid passport or another identification document bearing his/her photograph.
