Medical Instructions for Visa Applicants

Immigrants: Every applicant for an immigrant visa, regardless of age, must be medically examined.  The immigration law permits no exceptions.  It is the responsibility of the applicant to make the arrangements for the medical examination. It should take place about two weeks prior to the appointment date for the interview at the American Embassy in Bern to allow time for the medical report to be received before the appointment date.

The physicians listed  below are authorized to perform medical examinations for visa applicants.  Examinations by unauthorized physicians cannot be recognized.

The fees for the medical examination must be paid by the applicant to the doctor at the time of examination.  Applicants are required to identify themselves to the examining physician by presentation of a valid passport or another identification document bearing his/her photograph.

Instruktionen zur medizinischen Untersuchung für Visumantragsteller

Einwanderer: Jeder Antragsteller, jeglichen Alters,  für ein Einwanderungsvisum muss sich einer medizinischen Untersuchung unterziehen.  Das Einwanderungsgesetz erlaubt keine Ausnahmen.  Vorkehrungen zur medizinischen Untersuchung müssen vom Antragsteller getroffen werden.  Die Untersuchung sollte ca. zwei Wochen vor der Vorladung zum Interview mit dem amerikanischen Konsul in Bern stattfinden.  Dies gewährt der Botschaft genügend Zeit, am Vorladungstag im Besitz des ärztlichen Zeugnisses zu sein.

Die umseitig aufgeführten Ärzte sind bevollmächtigt, Untersuchungen durchzuführen. Untersuchungen von nicht bevollmächtigten Ärzten können nicht anerkannt werden.

Die Kosten für die Untersuchung gehen zu Lasten des Antragstellers und müssen dem Arzt bei der Untersuchung entrichtet werden.  Antragsteller sind gebeten,  dem untersuchenden Arzt  einen gültigen Reisepass oder ein anderes gültiges Ausweispapier mit Fotografie vorzulegen.

Instructions pour la visite médicale

Immigrants: Les personnes de tous âges désirant entrer aux Etats-Unis comme immigrant doivent passer un examen médical.  La loi ne prévoit aucune ecxeption. L’intéressé doit prendre rendez-vous avec le médecin lui-même.  L‘examen doit avoir lieu au moins deux semaines avant la date de convocation de l’intéressé pour son entrevue à l’Ambassade afin que les résultats puissent être en possession de l’Ambassade ce jour là.

Les frais d’examen sont à la charge du demandeur de visa et doivent être payés comptant directement au médecin.  La présentation d’une pièce d’identité, soit un passeport valable ou autre pièce officielle sur laquelle se trouve une photographie de la personne devant être examinée, est obligatoire pour cet examen.

Seuls les médecins désignés ci-dessous sont autorisés à examiner les personnes sollicitant un visa pour les Etats-Unis.

Istruzioni mediche per candidati al visto

Emigranti: Ogni persona, a prescindere dall’età, che desideri ottenere un visto di emigrazione per gli Stati Uniti deve passare una visita medica.  La legge americana non ammette eccezioni. Spetta alla persona stessa fare l’appuntamento con uno dei medici il cui nome figura sull’elenco qui allegato.  La visita deve aver luogo due settimane prima dell’intervista con il Console presso l’Ambasciata Americana di Berna e cio allo scopo di permettere che i resultati  dell’esame medico vengano ricevuti in tempo utile.

La tariffa richiesta dovrà essere versata direttamente al medico il giorno della visita.  La persona che si sottopone all’esame medico deve portare con sè il proprio passaporto o altro documento d’identificazione munito di fotografia. 

Solamente i medici il cui nome figura sull’elenco qui allegato sono autorizzati a visitare le persone residenti in Svizzera e che fanno domanda di visto per gli Stati Uniti.
