Visa Fees
The MRV fee is CHF 144 (US$160) for the following visa categories - (see a detailed chart at the bottom of this webpage): B (including B1/B2), C, C1/D, D, F, I, J, and M.
The MRV fee is CHF 171 (US$190) for the following visa categories (see a detailed chart at the bottom of this webpage): H, L*, O, P, Q, and R.
An additional fee of 500 USD will be charged to the principal applicant for a Blanket L visa and will be collected at the consulate during the interview. Payment for this supplemental fee is by cash or credit card only.
- In addition certain L1 Blanket applicants will have to pay a new Border Security Act fee of USD 2250 on behalf of their employers. The top of the petitioner's pocket cover letter should say whether the fee is or not required. If it does not, please contact your petitioner before coming in. If it does and you need to pay, you can do so at the Embassy (Visa, Mastercard, American Express or cash accepted).
The MRV fee is CHF 243 (US$270) for E treaty trader/investor visas.
The MRV fee is CHF 216 (US$240) for the K fiancée visa.
Exchange Rate
The Embassy exchange rate is 1.00 USD for CHF 0.90 This rate applies to all consular transactions, including payment of the MRV fee, any corresponding reciprocity fees and supplemental fees for Blanket L1 visas. All fees must be paid in CHF. Please do not use the daily market exchange rate or any other rate.

Every visa applicant must pay the application fee (MRV) per visa in advance to the following postal account 30-39699-5.
Either use a pink payment form (Einzahlungsschein Giro/Versement Virement/Versamento Girata) available at any post office.
OR, as an alternative, the U.S. Embassy Bern will accept payments of the application fee through e-banking on the following conditions:
- The MRV fee must be paid in Swiss Francs
- The applicant must present the original postal receipt or a bank account statement proving that the amount has been debited
- Postal Account 30-39699-5, IBAN CH23 0900 0000 3003 9699 5, BIC POFICHBEXXX, Name: US Embassy
