Information Resource Service (IRS) is a research and reference service for government officials, journalists, researchers and others with professional level interest in the United States and related subjects.
The IRS can assist in locating and retrieving the following types of materials:
U.S. Government information
Biographical information on American political, cultural or business leaders
Speeches and statements by the U.S. President or other U.S. officials
U.S. law or legal decisions

Recent articles from hundreds of American publications
Web sites for official U.S. government policy
The IRS provides background information and links on popular topics for students and teachers in the InfoUSA section, that is designed as a reference resource on the United States of America. It is a digital resource collection of information on U.S. society, culture, and political processes.
InfoUSA is also available in CD-ROM format. Off-line the CD-ROM provides direct access to e-texts which include official transcripts of speeches, reports and statistical summaries, educational materials, and other government materials of direct relevance to subject pages. Copies may be requested from the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Bern.
