4 July 2007 -- 231st Anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence

U.S. Embassy Hosts Annual 4th of July Celebration

On Wednesday, Ambassador Peter R. Coneway hosted several hundred guests at his residence to celebrate the 231st anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The event commemorated the great courage and conviction shown by the patriots of the American Revolution, who through selfless sacrifice and unrelenting determination, ensured that the United States’ claim to liberty and equality was not forgotten. In his remarks, Ambassador Coneway paid tribute to the men and women who continue to defend the values of freedom, liberty, and equality around the world today.

The festive event featured authentic Texas barbecue and entertainment by Princeton University’s all-male a cappella group, the Tigertones.
