    Ambassador LeVine: Foreign Policy is Economic Policy

    On May 20 Ambassador LeVine attended the grand opening of ABB Robotics new manufacturing facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan. ABB currently employs hundreds of workers in the area and expects to see their workforce double through the expansion of the plant, which will manufacture robots and related equipment. In her remarks, LeVine noted that one of the strongest elements of U.S.- Swiss relations is our economic relationship.

    Ambassador LeVine welcomed Delaware Governor Jack Markell to Switzerland May 7 -8. Governor Markell was in the country to participate in the prestigious St. Gallen Symposium and speak about the global impact of small states.

    Fragrance and Flavorings Powerhouse Firmenich Welcomes Ambassador LeVine

    Patrick Firmenich, Vice Chairman of the Board, and Gilbert Ghostine, CEO, welcomed Ambassador LeVine and her team to the Firmenich Research facility in Geneva. Swiss and family-owned, Firmenich is the world’s largest privately-held fragrance and flavor company and number two in its industry, with $3 billion in sales in fiscal year 2014.

    On April 30, Feintool CEO Heinz Loosli hosted Ambassador LeVine and her team at Feintool, headquarters in Lyss, Switzerland. Feintool develops and manufactures tools and presses, as well as high-precision, custom parts and components for the global automotive industry.
